Construction law is a technical subject where contract law (my university specialty) intersects with the reality of the construction site. Whether it is the renovation of a commercial space or the construction of a building, the financial challenges are often heavy.

I am intervening for the Project owners (customers) and the Construction companies at all stages:

  1. The Contract (Prevention): Drafting and reviewing works contracts and quotes to lock in deadlines, late penalties and acceptance procedures.
  2. The Construction Site (Execution): Legal crisis management: abandonment of the site by the craftsman, excessive delays, additional work that has not been validated.
  3. Reception & Guarantees: Assistance during the reception of the work (with or without reservations) to activate the legal guarantees: Perfect completion (1 year), Good functioning (2 years) and Decennial (10 years).
  4. Expertise: This is often where the case is won. I assist you during amicable or judicial expertise operations to defend your interests against insurance experts.

From contract drafting to faulty workmanship litigation

* Litigation: Malpractices & Non-performance: Legal procedure to obtain compensation following faulty work or site abandonment (Ex: Case successfully pleaded before the TJ de Meaux for defects during work) . * Budget: On estimate (Fees based on time spent or fixed price depending on the issue).

  • Referred Expertise: Emergency referral to the court to have a Judicial Expert appointed in the event of major disorders threatening the structure.
    • Budget: Procedure package starting from €1,500 excluding VAT.
  • Drafting of Work Contracts (Companies): Creation of your standard contracts and work terms and conditions to secure your payments and limit your liability towards subcontractors.
    • Budget: Packages starting from €900 excl. VAT.
  • Retention of Guarantee Management: Advice on the deposit or release of 5% of security withholding.
